PREMIER LEAGUE KICKS | HARRY’S STORY
Ipswich Town Foundation is highlighting Harry, a participant of the Premier League Kicks boxing sessions at Murrayside Community Centre.
Harry has been attending the free to access sessions since they launched in September 2024 and has seen a remarkable improvement in his physical and mental wellbeing as a result.
Working with his coach, Nathan, Harry has developed not only his boxing skills, but his self-esteem and confidence as well.
“From when he first started, he’s become more confident in himself, more outgoing and he’s wanted to stay at home less,” Harry’s dad told the Foundation website.
“I think there’s only been one session he’s missed through illness, and he’s become a lot more confident through being around different people and making friends.”

“I feel a lot fitter, and more confident that I can do more exercises,” Harry added.
Asked what he’d say to someone considering joining the Foundation’s Premier League Kicks sessions, he added:
“I was like you at one stage. I wasn’t confident, I was shy, but when I came here I was excited for it and now I feel more confident.”
Premier League Kicks, funded by the Premier League through the Premier League Charitable Fund, uses the power of football and sport to inspire young people to reach their potential, in some of the most high-need areas in England and Wales.
The programme creates opportunities for young people aged 8-18 who are at risk of anti-social behaviour, youth violence and/or from high-need areas to regularly engage in football, sport, mentoring and personal development opportunities.
All our sessions are free to attend, and open to young people aged 8-18, with the exception of our boxing session at Murrayside Community Centre, which is open to those aged 12-16.
