As the partnership between Northgate Sixth Form and Ipswich Town Foundation enters its third year, we are proud to continue providing A level education to the Foundation’s Post 16 Football and Education students.
The students will have all the advantages of being included in the training and games programme based at Portman Road, competing in fixtures against other male and female Club Community Organisations, likeminded programmes, and professional clubs.
The football provision within the Ipswich Town Foundation Post 16 programme is inclusive to all and is a platform to make professionals within sport. The coaching environment will allow players to reach their potential and showcase their talent in the right settings.
The overall programme will lay the foundations for students to progress in either higher education, American scholarships, employment or apprenticeships. The students will benefit from key partnerships including the University of Suffolk, University of Essex, University of Lincoln, UCFB and U.S Sports Scholarships.
Students will study for 3 A levels at the Northgate site, alongside their training and matches. Whilst at Northgate, they will be taught by subject specialists and play a full part in student life. They will also be part of the Northgate community with extensive pastoral support and the chance to take part in the numerous opportunities that are offered there.
“I am excited that our partnership continues to grow and provide A level opportunities to students who want to follow this path alongside specialist football training and support. We offer over thirty subjects at A Level and our results demonstrate the excellent teaching and support we provide, with 28% of our results at A* or A grades.” John Alexander, Head of Sixth Form at Northgate has said.
“We partnered with Ipswich Town as they have a forward thinking approach from top to bottom and the club were very clear that education and excellence is their top priority, which fits perfectly with our vision.”
“The partnership with Northgate is important to our programme as it provides A level provision to students who wish to study different subject areas within further education.” Robert Peace, Head of Education & Employability at Ipswich Town Foundation has said.
“Northgate has a very good reputation, and this partnership enhances our overall provision allowing any academic level student the opportunity to participate within the highly rated football programme we deliver within Ipswich Town Foundation.”
