The Girls Advanced Training Centre (ATC) forms tier 2 of the player pathway. It is an invitation only programme where players who have been identified as being talented and gifted footballers are invited to train on a weekly basis with Ipswich Town Football Club. Players within the ATC aged from U9 to U16 have the chance to receive quality technical coaching sessions at the state of art facility at Needham Market Football Club. The Girls ATC has limited places with small squads at each age group of between 14-16 players. Ipswich Town ATC are part of a new 12 team Girls Elite Development Programme league with festivals held every half term. This leads to Regional Finals in May and National Finals in June where England Talent ID Coaches will be in attendance.
The Girls ATC training season is made up of 30 weeks 1 hour training sessions. The sessions are designed to include a variety of individual and team training focuses developed to support each player. The training syllabus used for the ATC uses parts of the ACC and ITFC women format to suit the needs of our players, with an aim to create an ITFC female DNA across all tiers. The syllabus is made up of blocks of In Possession, Out of Possession and Transition themed sessions.
