EFL Week of Action | Charlie’s Story
To mark EFL Week of Action, the Foundation is highlighting Charlie, a former participant turned volunteer.
Charlie participated in the Foundation’s Youth Mental Health programme back in 2022, improving his confidence and self-esteem leading to a transition into the Player Development Centres and Soccer Schools the following year.
Now 17, Charlie decided he wanted to give something back to the Foundation, and has been volunteering across a number of programmes for the past few months, including Premier League Kicks, Soccer Schools, and on matchdays through Fly the Flag.
“I can understand the position that the young people have been in,” Charlie told the Foundation.
“I know how appreciative I felt as participant getting the help I needed, so if I can give it back then that means the world to me.”
