Ipswich Town Foundation is delighted to announce that its second annual Fundraising Dinner has raised more than £34,000.
All funds raised from the evening will be reinvested to support the Foundation’s work in communities across Suffolk.
The evening, hosted in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite at Portman Road, was a success, with guests including Chairman Mark Ashton, Manager Kieran McKenna, Foundation trustee Conor Chaplin, and heavyweight boxer Fabio Wardley.
Town legend and Foundation trustee Matt Holland hosted, discussing the importance of the Foundation’s work with both Mark and Kieran, before guests enjoyed a three-course meal.
Director of Foundation Dan Palfrey then addressed the audience, before Matt Holland interviewed DIVERT participant Elijah and his mum, India, discussing the impact that the Foundation’s work has had on their lives.
Guests then heard from former Town player and the evening’s special guest speaker, Adam Tanner, who discussed his time at the Club, his friendship with Matt Holland, and the personal struggles he has had to face throughout his life.
The evening concluded with an auction, led by Ed Crichton, with those in attendance bidding for a number of unique items including a third shirt signed by Ed Sheeran, a pair of signed Jacob Greaves boots, and a signed Ipswich Town crest which used to sit above the tunnel at Portman Road.
The Foundation would like to thank everyone who contributed to a fantastic evening, including the Venue and Catering teams at Ipswich Town for their support both ahead of and on the night, as well as trustees Matt Holland and Peter Over for their hard work in planning, delivering, and hosting the event.
The Foundation would also like to thank Adam Tanner, Mark Ashton and Kieran McKenna for giving up their time to speak on the night, and to Elijah and India for agreeing to share their stories with us.
