Town defenders Dara O’Shea and Conor Townsend made their first appearances in the community at Portman Road earlier this week, engaging with participants of the Foundation’s Walking Football and Boys Elite Player Development Centre.
Both Dara and Conor took part in question and answer sessions with both the Walking Footballers and the younger EPDC participants, as well as joining in with training with the latter group.
On their first look at the work of the Foundation, the former West Brom pair were given an insight into the diversity of the work being undertaken in the community, engaging with participants aged 7 to over 70 in the same evening.
The Foundation’s Walking Football group runs twice a week at Portman Road for people over the age of 50, providing crucial physical and social activity. For more information on the programme, contact sam.oakley@itfc.co.uk.
The Boys Football Development programme provides a number of invite-only sessions to talented players across Suffolk and surrounding areas, with more information available by contacting bradley.joy@itfc.co.uk.
