Second-year students graduating from the Ipswich Town Foundation Post-16 Football and Education Programme received their grades last week.
The results for the whole programme were very good with students receiving either their A level or BTEC grades. Two students who achieved very good grades were Ella Karkoska and Daniel Browning, both on the BTEC Level 3 in Sport achieving a Distinction* (D*), the highest grade possible and both securing their progression into either an apprenticeship or higher education.
Ella has secured an apprenticeship with Ipswich Town Foundation, where she will be working within the Post-16 programme gaining valuable knowledge and experience to lay the foundation for her progression within the sport and coaching industry.
On her achievements Ella said, “I’m really pleased to get a D* after two years of hard work with the programme. It would not have been possible without support I have been given from the Foundation and my teachers at Suffolk New College. Having completed the programme, I’m now going into an apprenticeship with the Foundation. I am really looking forward to getting to work within the club and gain further experience.”
Daniel has secured a place at the University of Lincoln studying a degree in Sport and Exercise Science. At university, Daniel will expand his understanding of sport and develop key life skills studying away from home over the next three years.
On this good news Daniel said “Opening the envelop and getting the grade that secured my place at university was surreal and I am very happy after all the hard work I put in. I am very excited about the future and what I can go onto achieve during and after my degree at the University of Lincoln.”
Robert Peace, Head of Education & Employability said “I congratulate all students on their grades, the majority received very good grades and have gone on to secure their next steps and this is our fundamental role working within further education. I wish all graduating students all the success in their futures and praise them on the hard work shown within the last two years.”
Ahead of enrolment on Thursday, 22 August, applications can still be made. For further information please visit the Foundation website or email Robert Peace (Head of Education & Employability) on robert.peace@itfc.co.uk
