Foundation Fixture raises over £55,000

Ipswich Town Foundation is delighted to announce that this year’s Foundation Fixture has raised a total of £55,213.62.

The fixture, Town’s 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough earlier this month, provided the Foundation with an opportunity to raise awareness of the work being carried out in the community, with the Foundation currently engaging with 9,000 young people and vulnerable adults on a weekly basis across 29 diverse and innovative programmes.

The funds raised will go back into the community, helping people in need across Suffolk and the surrounding areas, further facilitating the Foundation’s vision of producing an empowered, inspired, and inclusive community to be proud of.

As well as the generosity of the supporters through bucket and card collections around the stadium, the Club donated £1 per match ticket and matchday programme sold, 50p per pint sold around the stadium, as well as 100% of the profits from the Matchday Lottery and 50% of the profits on a new range of Foundation-branded products sold in Planet Blue.

A number of local businesses also provided their support on the day, including The Greyhound, Honey + Harvey, The Falcon, Bar Twenty One, Arcade Tavern, The Cake Station, and Combat2Coffee.

The Foundation once again launched a Crowdfunder campaign, offering supporters an opportunity to win matchworn shirts from Foundation Fixture – raising an astonishing £12,965 for the Foundation.

“We’re absolutely delighted with the amount raised from this year’s fixture,” Director of Foundation Dan Palfrey has said.

“A huge thank you to everyone who has shown their support, be that by donating, engaging with us in the FanZone and around Portman Road, or cheering on our participants as they walked around the pitch at half-time.

“The money raised will all be reinvested into the community through our diverse programmes, ensuring the Foundation is able to reach as many people in need across Suffolk and the surrounding areas as possible.”

The Foundation would like to place on record its sincerest thanks to the supporters, the Club, its players, and local businesses for their generosity in donating and their continued support of the work we are undertaking in the community.
