On Tuesday morning, Foundation staff were out at Alderman Park Recreation Ground, overlooked by Portman Road, to support Ipswich Borough Council in planting a new community orchard.
The orchard is made up of apple and pear trees, provided by The Tree Council as part of a UK wide project to plant “50 Golden Orchards” to mark the organisation’s 50th Anniversary.
Foundation Environmental Sustainability Officer Max Wilkes-Barker was there to support, alongside Schools staff Chris Scopes, Ash Wootton, Josh Slade, Rob Wood-Norman, Jody Wright, Zachary Elseidy, Ryan Southey, and Nathan Scarff, as well as volunteers from the Council’s Tree Warden Network.
