Wear Blue Day

Ipswich Town Foundation is delighted to announce ‘Wear Blue Day’, a new initiative encouraging all primary schools in Suffolk to turn the county blue on Friday, 15 December.

Wear Blue Day encourages pupils across schools in Suffolk to donate £1, with all funds raised to be split evenly between each school and the Foundation.

The Foundation is partnered with over 45 primary schools in Suffolk, and is encouraging pupils to wear an Ipswich Town shirt or simply a blue item of clothing, and is now calling upon all primary schools in the county to encourage their pupils to take part in Wear Blue Day.

The initiative will hopefully see pupils across Suffolk all dressed in blue, sending a clear message of support to the Club in the build-up to Town’s East Anglian Derby clash with Norwich City at Portman Road on 16 December.

Town CEO Mark Ashton will be speaking at an assembly at Gusford Primary School, who have already signed up to Wear Blue Day.

Furthermore, mascots Bluey and Crazee will be planning a tour of Suffolk schools, in a bid to visit as many participating Wear Blue Day schools. There will be further Club engagement from men’s and women’s players alongside Ipswich Town related competitions as part of the day.

“We’re delighted to launch our very first ‘Wear Blue Day’,” Director of Foundation Dan Palfrey has said.

“We can’t wait to see a sea of blue in primary schools across Suffolk. Our community engagement begins at primary schools, it is vital that we continue to build on our strong links within primary schools to ensure we are securing the next generation of Ipswich Town supporters.

“The initiative will also provide a great fundraising tool for schools and the Foundation. We hope that ‘Wear Blue Day’ will become an annual event that can be celebrated.”

Only primary schools in Suffolk are eligible to participate in Wear Blue Day. All primary schools have been contacted with a form to complete if they wish to participate. Should you require more details, please contact mike.phillips@itfc.co.uk.
