Ipswich Town Foundation is delighted to announce the launch of a new Powerchair Football programme, with the first session taking place on Sunday, 20 August 2023.
The sessions are designed to provide a safe and inclusive space for people of all ages who require the use of a powerchair for mobility to engage in football.
The sessions will take place on Sunday mornings between 11 and 12, with the sessions being held at Suffolk One.
“We are delighted to be able to add Powerchair to our disability provision, which will help us engage further with more people in the community,” Health and Wellbeing Manager Leanne Smith has said.
“It is great to be able to offer those in wheelchairs the chance to be able to play football under the Ipswich Town Foundation badge and engage with like-minded people.
“We firmly believe everyone should have the chance to play football and this will help us achieve this.”
The Powerchair Football sessions add to the Foundation’s ever-expanding disability provision, which includes Adult and Youth PAN Disability football sessions, PAN Disability Multi-Sport sessions, and Frame Football.
The first session will be available for free, with participants able to book by contacting Leanne Smith at leanne.smith@itfc.co.uk.
