Tour of Suffolk Cycle Ride raises over £19,000

This year’s Tour of Suffolk Cycle Ride, which took place on 4 and 5 June 2023, has raised over £19,000 to be split between Ipswich Town Foundation and Futurestars Charity.

The ride was a success once again this year, with cyclists travelling 150 miles from Portman Road through Suffolk and into Norfolk on the first day, before returning to Portman Road along the Suffolk coast on day two. Everyone connected to the Tour of Suffolk Cycle Ride would like to thank Greene King, Fishers Gin, Two Magpies Bakery and Potters Resort for their hospitality at stops across the two days.

The money raised has been split evenly, with the Foundation and Futurestars Charity taking £9,706.78 each. These funds will allow both charities to continue the work they are undertaking across Suffolk and surrounding areas and in Ghana and Togo respectively.

“Thank you to all the riders, support staff, sponsors and businesses who made the Tour of Suffolk 2023 a huge success,” Foundation Head of Business & Operations Sarah Dooley has said.

“We are absolutely delighted with the funds raised by the riders from generous donations and sponsorship which will go a long way to supporting the Foundation’s continued growth in Ipswich, Suffolk and surrounding areas.”

Ipswich Town Foundation and Futurestars Charity would like to place on record its thanks to all the participants, Elmy’s Cycles, Lee Godfree and Yen Pin Khor for their efforts across the two days, as well as to all those who donated and to our sponsors – Ashford Wright and Corey Brothers – for supporting the work both charities are undertaking.
