Boatswain and Cousens visit Tiptree EPDC

Town under 18 players Ash Boatswain and Dan Cousens visited the Foundation’s Elite Player Development Centre at Tiptree Leisure World on Thursday evening.

The youngsters took part in training drills with three different groups, taking the time to answer questions from the participants and the coaches at the session.

Both Ash and Dan used to take part in training sessions at Tiptree before progressing into the Club’s Academy setup, demonstrating to the young participants of the session on Thursday that progression from their current position into professional football is entirely possible.

Their presence at the session comes as an ongoing attempt from both the Foundation and the Academy to involve Town’s Academy players in the work the Foundation are doing in the community earlier in their careers. It follows on from a number of Academy visits to Foundation sessions, including Finn Steele and Alex Graham to our East Bergholt PDC, Gerrard Buabo, Danny Cullum, Ben Haddoch and Jack Manly to Frame Football, and Ryan Carr, Daniel O’Connor and Charlie Woods to our Easter Boys Development Camp at Portman Road.

Our Elite Player Development Centres (EPDC) are a regional coaching initiative, offering opportunities in Suffolk, Essex Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.
