The Foundation’s Adult Disability Team competed in the final Wots Up iCAN Football League Festival of the season at Copleston Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon.
Watched on by the Foundation’s Disability Ambassador and Town defender George Edmundson, as well as keeper Joel Coleman, the team enjoyed a successful afternoon, narrowly missing out on the league title by just two points.
Run by Suffolk FA and Ipswich Town, the league is a PAN Disability Football League that aims to use football as a way to socialise and stay active. The league is made up of 22 teams from across Suffolk, Essex and the surrounding areas, and split into three divisions to cater for different ability levels. Entry to the league is free and available to players aged 16 and over.
The Foundation’s disability provision includes adult and youth football and multi-sport sessions, designed to improve sporting and social skills, as well as self-esteem and confidence.
Our inclusive football sessions are delivered on a weekly basis and themed around all aspects of football while our multi sport sessions offer players the opportunity to try new sports every week.
