The Greyhound pub in Ipswich will donate 50p to the Ipswich Town Foundation for every pint sold over lunchtime before the Foundation Fixture game against Charlton.
Pub staff will also pass around collection buckets for customers to hand over money to further support the Foundation.
The annual Foundation Fixture on Saturday, April 15, will help raise awareness for the charity and provide funds to grow its work and impact within the community.
The Greyhound landlord Dan Lightfoot said: “The Foundation does an excellent job in the area. As a popular pub with fans before and after Ipswich games, we wanted to do our bit to support it.
“We’re pledging 50p from every pint sold before kick-off – and we sell an awful lot of beer on matchdays!”
Dan hopes other pubs in and around the town will join the Greyhound’s initiative.
The Foundation is also organising bucket and card collections in and around the ground for the Charlton match, plus there will be further donations from the football club including the following:
Dan Palfrey, Director of the Ipswich Town Foundation, said: “We’re extremely grateful to the Greyhound for its generous support. The pub is a firm favourite with Ipswich fans and a great supporter of the football club.”
Ipswich Town CEO Mark Ashton added: “A dedicated matchday for the Foundation allows us to highlight the vital work it undertakes every day in our local community.”
