Town defender Janoi Donacien visited one of the Foundation’s Wildcats sessions at Ipswich Academy earlier this week.
Janoi visited Monday’s session, taking the time to answer any questions the young participants had for him on his career so far, his time at Ipswich, and his ambitions for the rest of the season. He then joined in with the session, taking part in small-sided games with each of the teams at the session.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself, coming down here, playing with the girls,” Janoi said, speaking after the session.
“I was on the winning team again so it felt great being amongst the kids! It’s good for the young girls – when I was growing up they didn’t have many of these opportunities so it’s great for the girls to come out here and have a kick about and have fun.
“I think it’s great that girls are coming out and playing football, learning skills and being social.”
Our Wildcats sessions provide girls with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls. They offer a safe environment where girls with no football experience can have fun engaging with sport, develop fundamental skills, try a variety of sessions, learn new things and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport.
