Foundation Fixture | Frankie’s Story

As part of the build up to the Club’s dedicated Foundation Fixture, the Foundation is highlighting the stories of participants from across our programmes. This week, we are focusing on Frankie Williams, a member of our U16 Girls’ Junior Premier League (JPL) side.

Frankie joined the Foundation’s programmes at Open Access level through our Player Development Centre, and has progressed through our Girls’ Development Pathway into the Advanced Training Centre.

“I’ve been training a lot at home and I didn’t know this opportunity was going to come, and when the opportunity came I knew I needed to be the best player I can be,” Frankie said at a JPL training session on Tuesday evening.

“I started in January last year at the lowest tier, and then got moved up from there, and I’ve only recently joined the top tier and I’m really enjoying it.

“I want to play professional football and become the best player I can.”

“The sessions have helped me develop a lot,” Frankie added.

“Coming here at the start I didn’t know as much as I do now and I’m learning every week.”

The Club’s annual Foundation Fixture will take place on Saturday, 15 April for the home match with Charlton Athletic.

Foundation Fixture aims to raise awareness of the work Ipswich Town Foundation carries out in the community, whilst also providing a fundraising opportunity to allow the Foundation to continue to grow and make increased positive impact in the community.

As part of the event, supporters are encouraged to donate to the Foundation to help to improve and further grow the work carried out to support the community across the region. On the day, fans will be able to donate to the Foundation inside and around the ground through bucket collections which will include contactless devices for those looking to donate by card.
