Charlton Game Named Foundation Fixture

The Club’s annual Foundation Fixture will take place on Saturday, 15 April for the home match with Charlton Athletic.

Foundation Fixture aims to raise awareness of the work Ipswich Town Foundation carries out in the community, whilst also providing a fundraising opportunity to allow the Foundation to continue to grow and make increased positive impact in the community.

As part of the event, supporters are encouraged to donate to the Foundation to help to improve and further grow the work carried out to support the community across the region. On the day, fans will be able to donate to the Foundation inside and around the ground through bucket collections which will include contactless devices for those looking to donate by card.

As well as this, the Club has pledged the following donations to support the Foundation:

  • 50p from each home match ticket.
  • £1 from every matchday programme.
  • 10% of the profits from Planet Blue.
  • 20% of the profits from the FanZone bar.

In the lead up to the day, participant stories, staff interviews, and behind the scenes looks at the Foundation’s work will be shared across our social media pages and website, showcasing the programmes and people that support the community.

The Foundation will have an enhanced on the day presence, with more inflatables available for supporters to use in the FanZone, and Foundation content to be shown on the big screen in the stadium pre-match and at half-time.

“We’re delighted to announce our ‘Foundation Fixture’ for this season,” said Dan Palfrey, Director of Foundation.

“It’s a big day in the calendar for us as it provides an opportunity to showcase the work we undertake in the community and genuine positive impact we are having on peoples’ lives.

“With everything we have planned for the build up and the day itself, it should be a fantastic occasion with community at the heart of it.

“As well as awareness, this is a fundraising opportunity for the Foundation. We’re extremely grateful for the Club’s support. All funds raised on the day will help the Foundation continue to grow our programmes and ultimately make a positive impact to the local community.”

“A dedicated matchday for the Foundation allows us to highlight the vital work they undertake each and every day in our local community,” added Town CEO Mark Ashton.

“The Foundation is at the heart of everything we do at the Football Club, and the Charlton game will allow a packed out Portman Road to learn more about their impact in the area.

“I’d encourage all supporters to give what they can to help our Foundation continue to change the lives of people in Ipswich, Suffolk and the wider region.”
