Ipswich Town Foundation has received a number of new inflatables to enhance the experience for fans in the matchday FanZone and at other events.
The purchase of these inflatables was made possible by the funding provided to the Foundation by Town fan Steve Kirby through Vodafone’s VeryMe rewards.
Steve, who won a total of £50,000 through the national competition and could choose which charities he wanted to donate to, opted to donate over 50% to the Foundation and, in turn, contribute towards making the Club more accessible for disabled supporters whilst also improving the Foundation’s community engagement.
As well as the inflatables, additional sensory packs for supporters with autism and anxiety have been purchased with the donation, while more headsets for users of the Soccer Sight service have also been ordered and will help enhance the matchday experience for visually impaired fans. Accessible disability benches are also now in place in the FanZone.
Sarah Dooley, Head of Business and Operations said: “We are really grateful to Steve for his generosity in supporting the Foundation to enhance the matchday experience both in the FanZone and for disabled supporters.
“We are excited to showcase the first three new inflatables this Saturday against Sheffield Wednesday and look forward to revealing the other new equipment soon.”
Three of the new inflatables will be in use in the FanZone at this Saturday’s Sheffield Wednesday fixture, and the rest will be rolled out throughout the remaining home fixtures.
