The Foundation have been offered a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Orwell Challenge 2023 as a registered charity partner on Sunday 25th June 2023.
The Orwell Challenge, formally known as the Orwell Walk, is a historical, annual fundraiser which is organised by The Rotary Club of Ipswich East. It’s a fun, family friendly event so no matter your age or ability, everyone can get involved and raise money for your local, chosen charity.
The event is in its 46th year and has helped to raise over £3.2million for runners chosen charities, most local to Suffolk.
Participants can choose to walk 3, 13, 19 or 25 miles or alternatively run a half or full marathon distance across the beautiful Suffolk countryside.
Upon completing the Orwell challenge, participants will be awarded a certificate and a medal. Half marathon and marathon runners will receive a free t-shirt while walkers have the option to purchase one.
Whilst sign up is available on the day of the event, online registration ahead of the event is advised, with the entry fees discounted by 20% for those who sign up before the 28th February 2023.
Entry costs cover the delivery of the event, with every penny raised by fundraising going directly to the charity of your choice. If you choose to raise money for the Ipswich Town Foundation, we encourage you to wear blue to show your support!
