The Ipswich Town Foundation’s Adult Disability Team competed in the Wots Up iCAN Football League at Copleston Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon.
Cheered on by the Foundation’s Disability Ambassador and Town defender George Edmundson, the team enjoyed a successful afternoon, playing six matches, winning four and losing two.
Run by Suffolk FA and Ipswich Town, the league is a PAN Disability Football League that aims to use football as a way to socialise and stay active. The league is made up of 22 teams from across Suffolk, Essex and the surrounding areas, and split into three divisions to cater for different ability levels. Entry to the league is free and available to players aged 16 and over.
The Foundation’s disability programmes include both football and multi-sport sessions for adults and U18s, which help to ensure that all disabled participants have access to engage in physical activity with support from qualified and experienced coaching staff.
