Junior Coaches Award returns for 22/23
Last season we began a new scheme across our three partner schools in Essex – Great Bentley, Elmstead and Frinton On Sea, called the Junior Coaches Award with the aim to inspire the next generation of sports coaches.
The first year of the scheme was a great success with over 80 Year 6 students across the three schools, taking part throughout year and all successfully passing their theory and practical modules meaning they were awarded a coach’s jacket, pitchside at Portman Road on a matchday last season.
Each Junior Coach takes part in a weekly theory session for the duration of the six week course as well as carrying out five practical sessions. Both the theory and practical session’s are lead by a member of Ipswich Town Foundation Staff.
