Cameron Burgess attends The Golden Days Café

Ipswich Town defender Cameron Burgess attended the Foundation’s Golden Days Café earlier today.

The monthly initiative, which is run in partnership with Ipswich Dementia Action Alliance (IDAA), is hosted in the Hall of Fame restaurant at Portman Road. Refreshments and lunch were provided for all attendees and volunteers, who could share stories of their time following Town and have a chat in a relaxed environment.

Cam went around each table chatting to attendees about their memories as Town fans and in their general life before getting involved in the putting activity provided by Seckford Golf Club.

Town legends Simon Milton and George Burley were in attendance as well as Foundation Trustee, Matt Holland.

“It was pretty humbling to meet the people that come down here,” said Cam.

“I saw the younger generation coming through out on the pitch on Monday evening at Needham Market and then today I saw the older generation share their experiences and memories of the Club so it was great to go to both sessions back to back.

“It’s good for the legends to get down here, they clearly love the Club a lot and want to give back to the local community.”
