Town forward Gassan Ahadme visited one of the Foundation’s partner schools, Britannia Primary School earlier today to celebrate European Day of Languages.
Gassan began his visit by chatting to the year six pupils about his upbringing and experience of learning English as a second language. Having grown up in Barcelona, the Town striker speaks fluent Spanish and Catalan and took extra lessons during his school years to learn English. Once the assembly had concluded, the class headed outside where Ahadme posed for a group photo and spoke to pupils individually.
“It feels really good to be out in the community seeing the fans, they help us so if I can encourage children to better themselves then it is really good,” Gassan told the Foundation website.
“The children are at an age where they may not appreciate the importance of learning a second language but I tried to encourage them to keep learning and stick at it.”
