Matt Holland and Simon Milton attend The Golden Days Café

It was another fantastic turnout at this month’s The Golden Days Café sessions yesterday morning, which supports those living with dementia, alongside their carers and those bereaved.

The monthly initiative, which is run in partnership with Ipswich Dementia Action Alliance (IDAA), is hosted in the Hall of Fame restaurant at Portman Road. Refreshments and lunch were provided for all attendees and volunteers, who could share stories of their time following Town and have a chat in a relaxed environment.

Foundation Trustee Matt Holland and Town legend Simon Milton both popped along to speak to those in attendance and have lunch with the group.

“It is a fabulous initiative,” said former Town Midfielder, Matt.

“It’s a heartbreaking illness that people have to put up with.”

“To see the faces, the smiles and being able to talk about their Ipswich Town memories – It’s been really eye-opening, really rewarding and really enjoyable”

The Golden Days Café takes place on the first Thursday of every month. For more details, please contact leanne.smith@itfc.co.uk.
