Jake Dolden, who was a student on the ITFC Post-16 Football and Education programme, made his way to North Carolina to begin his scholarship with Carolina University last month. Dolden joined the ITFC Post-16 Football and Education programme in 2020 and the Foundation was extremely fortunate to see him progress as both a student and as an athlete. Having approached the pathway with an open mind, Jake has taken onboard everything that has been asked of him and the staff at Ipswich Town Foundation could not ask any more of him.
“His love of football has grown and being given the responsibility of captain helped him gain the confidence and belief that he had lacked.” said Gretta Dolden, Jake’s mother.
“His application to education has soared to a level that I didn’t think was possible. His personality and behaviours have also grown positively, not only within the programme but in his everyday life.”
“It is never easy making a big move to university, let alone moving to another country, Jake has been an example that I hope to be able to emulate with our students this year and in the future.” said Luke Worley, Football & Education Officer.
“Jake achieved fantastic grades within our programme and I know he will flourish at Carolina University both in the classroom and on the pitch. We look forward to welcoming Jake back at Christmas to hear how his first season goes.”
All at the Foundation wish Jake the very best for the future, and we will be watching with a keen eye for his progress.
