Children’s Art Competition EXTENDED!

As part of the ‘Suffolk – The Platinum Years’ exhibition at this year’s Suffolk Show, Ipswich Town Heritage Society, in partnership with Ipswich Town Football Club and Ipswich Town Foundation invite 5-16 year-olds to enter an art competition ‘Going to the Match’.

Competition Details

We are asking youngsters to create a drawing, painting or collage inspired by their experiences of ‘Going to the Match’.   Any medium can be used – paint of any sort, charcoal or pencil, crayon or felt tip, embroidery or tapestry or mosaic.

The brief can be interpreted in any way, within the theme of going to a match.  It could be an ITFC Men’s game, ITFC Women’s game or another game that they have been to.  Or if they haven’t been to a game, how would they imagine it would be?

The art work can feature the outside or inside of the ground, getting ready at home or the journey to the stadium.  It can be based on the past, present or how it might be like in the future.

Please note, that we will only be able to accept A4 landscape and two-dimensional entries.

Judging

Entries will be judged in four different groups, divided by school year as follows: years 1-3, 4-6, 7-8 and 9-11.

Closing Date

All entries were originally to be submitted by Friday 20 May, this date has been extended by 5 days. The closing date is now Wednesday 25 May. Entries received after this time will not be included in the judging.

To enter

Entries should either be:

• Posted to Elizabeth Edwards, Ipswich Town Football Club, Portman Road, Ipswich IP1 2DA
• Left at the Ipswich Town Football Club main reception
• Scanned and emailed to itfcheritage@gmail.com

Please note that we will not be able to return entries.

Winners

Winning entries will be displayed in the Ipswich Town Heritage Society marquee in the ‘Suffolk – The Platinum Years’ area at the Suffolk Show (you will find us next to the Bucklesham Entrance).

Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries for each age group.
