We are pleased to announce the following players have progressed to the Ipswich Town Women’s Tier 1 ACC (Advanced Coaching Centre) following a successful trial.
Our congratulations go out to Matilda Cane, Courtney Elliston, Autumn Trenchard, Autumn Wheaton and Clara Armsby who will spend the remainder of the season training in the Ipswich Town ACC programme.
All five players had been training within the ATC (Advanced Training Centre) tier 2 programme when, in February, they took part in an internal fixture event against the ACC where their exceptional performance caught the eyes of ACC staff. All 5 players then completed a two-week trial with the ACC and have now been rewarded with a place in the top tier of the Ipswich Town Female Pathway for their age group. With four EPDC centres located at Tiptree, Long Stratton, Mildenhall and Ipswich alongside our centrally located ATC programme at Needham Market, we have a fluid and transparent pathway for players to progress.
Harry Watts, Girls Development Officer said “I am delighted for the girls; their hard work and determination has been rewarded. What’s even more pleasing is all the girls started their journey in our EPDC programme and worked their way through the ATC and now reaching the top ACC tier. At the start of the 2021/22 season, we opened three new development centres (Tiptree, Mildenhall and Long Stratton) with the view to provide opportunities for talented female footballers and broaden our reach across the East Region. Now, just a few months down the line, it’s amazing to see we already have a representative from each centre in our top tier. I wish the players the best of luck on their footballing journey, and I look forward to seeing who will be next to follow in their footsteps”.
