Our Post-16 Football and Education programme is expanding for the 2022/23 season with a new location just outside Colchester, Essex.
The Community Trust is delighted to announce a new partnership with Wivenhoe Town Football Club. This creates our 3rd location for Post-16 Football and Education programmes, after Portman Road and Mildenhall. Scholars based at Wivenhoe will represent Ipswich Town in weekly fixtures against other Professional Clubs while continue their education with a NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity, delivered through SCL.
Luke Worley, Football & Education Coordinator said “we are delighted to announce this new partnership with Wivenhoe Town. It’s a great club with a fantastic history and has already provided some players for our Portman Road based centre. This has been pivotal in providing the platform to further develop our relationship with the board and work with them to support the development of young players both on and off the pitch. We look forward to getting started in September 2022.”
Mo Osman, Chairman of Wivenhoe Town added “Wivenhoe Town Football Club are pleased and excited to be able to host the brand new Ipswich Town Football Post-16 programme at the M.E.C Stadium. This is a fantastic opportunity for talented footballers to combine further education and the sport they love. The project will increase opportunities for school leavers in the local and surrounding area and home matches will be played at the ground. We are happy Ipswich Town have chosen to work with us and are able to utilise the facility during off peak hours. We look forward to exciting times ahead.”
